A debut season dreams are made of at Lynwood Park and the Macarthur Rams for Madison McComasky in the #NPLWNSW competition.
Born in Sydney, McComasky spent a large amount of her football career in the United States within the college system before returning home and putting on the Rams jersey.
She has definitely caught the eye with the Rams playing in both midfield and defence, showing fine composure and control on the ball.
“From when I first got to the club I knew there were high expectations and a goal to achieve. It’s my first season at the Rams and I have loved every moment of it. There is great experience at the club and I have grown and learnt to so much from the players around me,” McComasky said.
There is still work to do for McComasky and her team mates though.
“The job isn’t done yet, but the girls have proven we deserve to be in the final and I hope to take it all the way with them.”
McComasky will more than likely line up in the centre of defence next to the experienced Alex Huynh on Sunday and she believes that the Rams need to keep composed and they can get the job done.
“The expectations ahead of the final is to just keep going how we have been. We have been gaining momentum and have gotten stronger each week. I think our semi-final against APIA was a great test and preparation for the final where we showed hunger and desire down to the last minute,” she said.
“The girls know it’s not going to be an easy game and are ready to go all the way.”
Standing in their way of claiming the Championship are a strong and well drilled Northern Tigers outfit who won’t make it easy.
“Tigers are a strong side to come up against in the final. It’s going to be a tough battle from the beginning. I don’t think people were expecting a Rams v Tigers final but both teams have worked so hard to be here and won’t go down easy.”
Celebrating her 23rd birthday in just over a week or so, it would be the ultimate gift for the talented youngster who is yet to be picked up by an A-League Women’s outfit for the 2022-23 season.
