After a number of years with Sydney Olympic, seeing them gain promotion to the National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s competition, Jess Frampton has decided to replace the blue and white stripes with red and black ones instead, joining Bankstown City for the upcoming season.

The move took many by surprise across the NPL NSW Women’s competition but for Frampton, it’s football and a new challenge.

“I fancied a change to try and push myself,” Frampton said.

“I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to play at this level, I thought it’d be best to play alongside my friends. People like Lexi Moreno, Demi Koulizakis and Alexia Karrys-Stahl are professional players I want to play alongside and just happen to be friends as well and I just want to enjoy it.”

Matt Costantini has managed to build a respectable squad which has continuously grown every year with whispers about that they could make a challenge for the title this season.

Bankstown City’s new right back believes in the squad and is excited about what could come in 2023.

“I truly think we are a force to be reckoned with. I’ve noticed the dynamics across all the teams in the league have changed, even the Sydney Olympic team I once knew is not the same team I once knew,” said Frampton.

“With the new teams coming in as well I think there will be a lot more competition and for the bigger clubs, I don’t see many walkovers.”

Frampton says she is enjoying life at Jensen Park and commended not only the coaching staff but also the board and club.

“I love it here, I get treated so well here. The professionalism is across the whole club, you are respected and valued for the player and person you are and for what you do both on and off the park.

“The club itself look after the players individually, no matter who you are and welcome you with open arms.”
