Round 4 Review – NPL Women’s NSW

The National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW competition produced another superb weekend of drama, with upsets, spectacular goals, red cards and statement wins making up the Round 4 action.

It finished all square in the National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW Match of the Round, as Gladesville Ravens and Illawarra Stingrays played out a tense, hard-fought stalemate.
Both sides had their chances in a tightly contested encounter, but neither could find the breakthrough in what was ultimately a battle of defensive resilience.
Northern Tigers 7-1 NWS Spirit
North Turramurra Recreational Area
The Northern Tigers delivered a dominant performance to secure a resounding 7-1 victory over NWS Spirit.
Tanaye Morris starred with four goals, while Ellie Head and Nicola Dominikovich were also influential in a ruthless attacking display.
Despite a brilliant solo effort from Grace Attard to briefly level the match, Spirit were unable to contain the Tigers’ attacking firepower.
APIA Leichhardt 4-1 Manly United
Lambert Park
APIA Leichhardt continued their perfect start to the season with a strong 4-1 win over fellow unbeaten side Manly United.
After falling behind early to Emily Minett’s header, APIA responded emphatically, with Ashlee Brodigan and Maya Lobo contributing before Ashlie Letta secured a brace to seal the result.
The victory further cements APIA’s position as early title contenders.
UNSW 4-0 Bulls FC Academy
The Village Green
UNSW produced a statement performance with a commanding 4-0 victory over Bulls FC Academy.
Demi Koulizakis and Milan Hammond combined well to open the scoring, before UNSW extended their lead through a dominant attacking display.
A red card to Tamires Souza compounded the Bulls’ struggles, as UNSW ran away with an emphatic win.
Western Sydney Wanderers 0-0 Macarthur Rams
Wanderers Football Park
Western Sydney Wanderers and Macarthur Rams could not be separated in a tightly contested 0-0 draw.
The Rams applied consistent attacking pressure throughout, while the Wanderers showed resilience defensively to earn a point.
Ultimately, neither side could find the decisive moment in a physical contest.
Western City Rangers 2-1 Sydney University
Popondetta Park
Western City Rangers secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sydney University.
Gabriela Silva opened the scoring with a stunning long-range strike, before Despina Vasiliadis doubled the lead late in the match.
Despite a late consolation goal from Sydney University, the Rangers held on to claim all three points.
Sydney Olympic 1-2 Hills United
The Crest
Hills United claimed an impressive 2-1 comeback win over Sydney Olympic.
Morgan Witz gave Olympic the lead with a superb free-kick, but Hills responded strongly through Erin Tavares before Neve Burns produced the winner.
A spirited second-half performance ensured Hills secured a valuable three points on the road.
