Gladesville Ravens ready for life in the NPL

It was a year to remember in 2022 for the Gladesville Ravens as they secured their place in the 2023 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s competition, gaining promotion from Football NSW League One Women’s.

A club with a rich history, stretching over 60 years, they took the league by storm, completing the double as Premiers and Champions, while in combination with the reserve grade team, claimed the Club Championship too.

The 2023 season promises to be a different beast as the newly promoted club will come up against some of the biggest female football clubs in not just New South Wales but Australia.

Andrew Galbraith, the Ravens Championship winning coach, will remain in charge as they look to begin a multi-year plan with the support of ‘instrumental’ technical director, Stephen Bott.

Galbraith has managed to retain the core of the double-winning side with the likes of experienced Keiko Tanaka leading from the back. Romi Parraguirre, who was voted League One keeper of the year, has also re-signed, while Kim Davey will don the captain’s armband for this new adventure.

The Ravens have strengthened with former Blacktown Spartans star Keisha Allen and Manly United’s Chloe O’Brien. Added to that, Annie Halls and Alyssa Thompson have also put pen to paper for the Black and Whites.

With season kick off less than a month away, the Ravens will be announcing further new additions in the coming weeks.
