Ever improving Emerging Jets set sights on consistency

4 March , 2020 By Football NSW

The Emerging Jets showed vast improvements in 2019 and will definitely look to improve on that and try pus further up the ladder.

Coach Ashley Wilson has the job to blood these young future stars into the top tier of women’s football in NSW and prepare them for the W-League and beyond.

Wilson is modest in her expectations for the upcoming season.

“I expect us to be competitive and to continue to build over the season and hopefully surprise a few more experienced teams.”

Being an academy side, the Jets need to focus on future stars meaning there team is filled by teenagers.

“A young team aged between 16 and 19 can be a strength and a weakness.

“They have enthusiasm and will look to compete and perform beyond what others might expect.”

Wilson acknowledges where her team may struggle against the more physical and experienced sides.

“Experience, power and strength at times against teams that particularly have a number of W-league players may provide a challenge if circumstances in the game become tough.”

The Jets face a difficult task in round one when they travel to Lynwood Park.
