Round 7 Preview – PS4 NPL NSW Women’s

Macarthur Rams lead the PlayStation®4 NPL NSW Women’s competition, taking the mantle from Sydney University after 6 rounds.

Football NSW Institute v Blacktown Spartans

Match of the round takes us to Valentine Sports park as the Football NSW Institute host the Blacktown Spartans.

Four matches without a win have seen the Institute spiral down the ladder to seventh place.

Craig Foster’s side will look to turn their fortunes around this weekend and a team that has the quality of Princess Ibini-Isei can cause anyone harm.

Arguably the surprise so far of the season, the Blacktown Spartans currently sit just behind the Rams in second place.

Andrew Mastoris will be impressed with his team’s start to the 2017 season but will ensure they continue to move forward and don’t get carried away.

NWS Koalas v Manly United

At ELS Hal Park on Sunday afternoon, the North West Sydney Koalas host Manly United.

Two form teams take to the field in a direct battle for a top four spot.

The Koalas haven’t lost since round one and have now won three games on the bounce, scoring an impressive 11 goals in those victories.

Stephen Peters’ side has been boosted by the return of Tara Andrews and the fantastic run and has no doubt coincided with her.

When Manly wins, they win convincingly, scoring 13 goals in their three wins this season.

With Remy Siemsen continuing her fine form, scoring six goals in the first six rounds of the competition, Chris Williams will have the belief his talented side can take all three points.

Illawarra Stingrays v Emerging Jets

The Illawarra Stingrays will host bottom placed Emerging Jets on Sunday at JJ Kelly Park.

Brett Wallin wasn’t happy after the Stingrays defeat last week and will look for an immediate response from his side.

Talitha Kramer was particularly impressive last week with her fantastic runs down the left wing.

For the Jets, they went down last week again but many positives could be taken from a fantastic first half performance.

Sydney University v Northern Tigers

Sydney University Football Ground will host Sydney University and the Northern Tigers.

Heather Garriock will not be happy with last week’s loss.

It would have come somewhat as a shock last week but the Champions will have to lift in order to get their title hopes on track again.

Despite dropping down to third place, they’re only two points from first.

The Tigers were defeated in a tight one last week and could take confidence from an improved performance.

Pat O’Sullivan’s side has already sprung a surprise or two this season and if they’re taken lightly, they will punish Uni.

North Shore Mariners v Macarthur Rams

It’ll be the North Shore Mariners taking on first place Macarthur Rams at Northbridge Oval.

The Mariners scored an important win last week, only their second of the season.

To keep in touch with the teams vying for a finals place, defeating the Rams will go a long way to achieving that.

For Macarthur, it looks like they like a tight game and giving coach Norm Boardman a heart attack or two.

Elizabeth Ralston, Daniela Brekic and Amy Harrison were in fine form last week and they will be keen for the Rams to remain at the top of the table.
