Four Teams, One Destination: NPL Women’s NSW Semi-Finals Await

The stage is set, the regular season is done and now only four teams remain in the hunt for NPL Women’s NSW Championship glory.

The Semi-Finals are upon us this weekend, with UNSW FC, APIA Leichhardt, Bulls FC Academy and Western Sydney Wanderers all just 90 minutes away from earning their place in the 2026 Grand Final at St George Venues Jubilee Stadium.

Two blockbuster contests will decide who gets their ticket to the big dance, with the action beginning at The Village Green before moving to Northbridge Oval on Sunday.

And for those unable to make it to the grounds, both Semi-Finals will be streamed LIVE on the Football NSW YouTube channel.

UNSW FC v APIA Leichhardt

Saturday, 5 September – 5:00pm

The first Grand Final berth will be decided at The Village Green on Saturday evening when UNSW FC host APIA Leichhardt.

UNSW have enjoyed an outstanding campaign and will now look to take the next step after finishing second in the regular season.

The Students pushed Bulls FC Academy all the way in the Premiership race and remained in contention for top spot until the final round.

They have match-winners throughout the squad and will be looking to the likes of Chloe Smith, Demi Koulizanis and their attacking players to provide the spark in a contest where opportunities could be at a premium.

UNSW also showed their resilience late in the regular season, fighting back against Hills United to secure a 1-1 draw and maintain their position among the league’s leading sides.

Standing in their way is an experienced APIA Leichhardt outfit that knows exactly what it takes to perform on the big stage.

APIA have been one of the competition’s strongest sides throughout the season and will be determined to make another Grand Final appearance.

Ash Letta has been one of the standout attacking players in the competition, finishing the regular season with an incredible 30 goals and providing APIA with a genuine match-winning threat.

The Inner-West based club will be looking for Letta, along with the rest of their attacking arsenal, to unlock a strong UNSW defence.

With both sides possessing plenty of attacking quality, this one could come down to which team handles the pressure of the occasion best.

One thing is certain — there will be no second chances.

The winner advances to Jubilee.

The loser’s Championship hopes are over.

Bulls FC Academy v Western Sydney Wanderers

Sunday’s Semi-Final sees Bulls FC Academy take on Western Sydney Wanderers at Northbridge Oval, with another Grand Final berth on the line.

The Bulls enter the Championship Series as the team to beat after securing their second consecutive Premiership following another dominant regular season.

Marti Garces’ side produced an incredible campaign, going 21 matches unbeaten before finishing the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Western City Rangers.

They have proven themselves the benchmark throughout 2026, combining defensive resilience with an attack capable of producing goals from all areas of the pitch.

Amber Luchtmeijer and Jynaya Dos Santos will be two stars to watch after finishing the regular season strongly, while the likes of Sarah Hunter and Petria Phillips provide the Bulls with plenty of attacking options.

The Bulls will now be looking to turn another Premiership into another Championship, having won last year’s Grand Final.

Standing in their way is a Western Sydney Wanderers side that has been one of the stories of the 2026 campaign.

The Wanderers secured their place in the final four after an impressive season and will now have the opportunity to knock off the Premiers and reach the Grand Final.

They have already shown they can match it with the competition’s best and will need another big performance if they are to end the Bulls’ incredible run.

Players such as Mia Nataly, Talia Younis and Amelia Bennet have provided plenty of attacking threat throughout the season, giving the Wanderers the weapons to cause problems.

The Wanderers will know they cannot afford to give the Bulls any space, but they will also need to be brave going forward if they are to cause an upset.

The Road To Jubilee

With just two matches separating the final four from the Grand Final, the stakes could not be higher.

For UNSW and APIA, Saturday night provides the first opportunity to book a place in the decider.

For Bulls and Western Sydney, Sunday brings another heavyweight contest with the Premiers looking to continue their charge towards back-to-back Championships.

The winners will meet at St George Venues Jubilee Stadium on Sunday, 13 September, with the 2026 NPL Women’s NSW Championship on the line.
