Reigning Sapphire Cup Champions APIA Leichhardt FC will enter the upcoming National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW season firmly focused on adding further silverware to their trophy cabinet, with head coach Brad Attard returning to lead the club for another campaign.

Expectations are once again high at Lambert Park, and APIA have wasted little time reinforcing their squad with a series of high-profile signings. The Inner West powerhouse has secured former Sydney University SFC sharpshooter Talia Kapetanellis and former Students captain Jamie Beaufils, while Young Matilda Maya Lobo adds further quality and promise.

APIA have also strengthened their attacking stocks with the arrival of former Western Sydney Wanderers striker Shareen Karnib, alongside fellow Wanderers teammate Estella Cameron. Adding further top-tier experience, Alyssa Rose returns to the club following a stint with Sydney FC in the A-League Women’s competition.

The squad also receives a timely boost with the return of two key players. Defender Tanya Borazio is back after a year sidelined through injury, while midfielder Paige Hayward returns following time away after the birth of her child, adding valuable experience and depth to Attard’s midfield options.

Continuity remains a key strength for APIA, with a strong core of players recommitting for the new season. Sophie Magus, Jess Seaman, Mona Walker, Ashlee Brodigan, Ashlie Letta (formerly Crofts), Jordan Jasnos, Mia Golding, Estelle Fragalle, Alicia Meuronen, Imogen Lane and Christina Kiceec have all re-signed, ensuring stability as the club pushes towards its ambitious goals.

With a squad stacked with talent, depth and experience, APIA Leichhardt FC will be aiming to challenge on all fronts in 2026, with their sights firmly set on both the Premiership and Championship.

The defence of their Sapphire Cup success begins at home, with APIA set to host Sydney University SFC at Lambert Park on Sunday, 8 March, in what shapes as a blockbuster opening round clash in the NPL Women’s NSW season.
