Manly’s attacking masterclass leaves Rangers reeling

Manly United made a statement on Good Friday with a dominant 4–0 win over Western City Rangers in the National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW clash at Cromer Park.
Nicole Stuart was the star, scoring either side of halftime, while late strikes from Chlo O’Brien and Grace Arnold sealed a comprehensive victory and all three points for the home side.
Manly’s first real chance came around the 15-minute mark when Alexia Forner saw her effort from an indirect free kick inside the box just drift wide. The set piece followed a contentious back-pass incident, where Rangers goalkeeper Renee Krstanovska was adjudged to have handled the ball.
Krstanovska was soon called into action, making two successive saves. Emily Minett rose well to meet a cross with a powerful header, only for Krstanovska to deny her. Moments later, Sarah Whelan tried her luck from close range, but again the Rangers keeper was equal to the task.
Manly finally broke through three minutes before halftime. Ariella Cabezas intercepted a loose pass, feeding Minett, who burst forward before teeing up Stuart. The midfielder made no mistake, sweeping the ball beyond Krstanovska to give the home side a well-deserved lead.
The second half began in high tempo, with Manly immediately threatening the Rangers’ goal, a glancing header from Minett rattling the post. But just three minutes after the restart, Manly doubled their advantage. Forner played a perfectly weighted ball through to Stuart, who used her pace to glide past her marker and calmly slot the ball past the keeper, completing her brace.
Manly’s dominance continued as Minett forced another strong save from Krstanovska, only for the follow-up corner to deliver Manly’s third. Grace Arnold swung in a precise delivery, allowing Chlo O’Brien to rise highest and loop a header over the keeper from the penalty spot.
With minutes remaining, Manly added the fourth. Arnold, who had provided the previous assist, scored directly from a corner with a beautifully executed inswinger, leaving the Rangers’ defence and goalkeeper helpless.
It was a thoroughly impressive and comfortable victory for Manly United, a performance that showcased their attacking flair, defensive solidity, and dominance from start to finish.
