NWS Spirit FC Embrace New Era Ahead of Exciting NPL Women’s NSW Season

National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW side NWS Spirit FC are preparing for an exciting and highly competitive 2026 campaign under the guidance of new head coach John Seroukas, as the club sets its sights firmly on playing finals football.
Following a period of transition, Spirit enter the new season refreshed and motivated, with Seroukas tasked with shaping a squad capable of challenging the league’s strongest sides while continuing the club’s proud tradition of developing elite talent.
The 2025 season proved a breakthrough year for young star Skye Halmarick, whose outstanding performances earned her a professional A-League Women’s contract with Sydney FC. While her departure marks the end of a standout chapter, it also signals another success story in Spirit’s development pathway. The club has also farewelled Victoria Martin, Kayla Osborn, Christina Aunon, Ariana Stoltsfuz, Katie Offer and Matildas Gilbert as part of a broader squad refresh.
In response, Seroukas has moved decisively in the recruitment space, bringing together a blend of experience, youth and ambition. New arrivals Jasmin Selva, Annie Foote, Sabine Montenegro, Annalise Brewster, Jordyn Drysdale-Spencer, Frankie Morrow and Aaliyah Browning will all be eager to make their mark in Spirit colours at Christie Park this season.
Crucially, the squad retains a strong core of experienced leaders. Midfielder Shani Cooney-Cross returns to anchor the centre of the park, while striker Mikaela Gavranic and defender Harper Peel provide stability at either end of the pitch. Leading the side once again is star captain Erin Pridmore, whose experience and leadership will be central to Spirit’s push for consistency and success.
Spirit’s first challenge of the new campaign comes in Round 1, when they host Sydney Olympic at Christie Park on Saturday, 7 March. With a new coach, fresh faces, and renewed belief, NWS Spirit FC will be eager to lay down an early marker and signal their intent for the 2026 NPL Women’s NSW season.
