Sydney University SFC Appoint Xavier Taylor as Head Coach for 2026

Sydney University SFC have confirmed the appointment of Xavier Taylor as Head Coach of their National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW squad for the 2026 season.
Taylor arrives in the role with strong credentials, having recently served as Assistant Coach with the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League Women’s, where he played a key part in the club’s 2024/25 Championship-winning campaign. His work at the elite level has earned widespread respect for his tactical insight, player development focus, and leadership qualities.
The 33-year-old is no stranger to University’s pathways, Taylor has been a member of the Sydney University SFC coaching staff for the past five years, helping deliver multiple championships in both the U23s and Reserve Grade programs. His long-term involvement with the club provides continuity while marking the beginning of a new chapter for the first-grade squad.
Looking ahead to the season, Taylor is hoping to elevate the program’s standards both on and off the pitch, with a strong emphasis on developing future first-team players and pushing the side into the finals in 2026.
