The Gladesville Ravens have managed to secure back-to-back Premierships  in the National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s Under 23’s competition.

Ravens’ Head of Football, Troy Spink, is proud of what the club has been able to achieve with this group of players and coaching staff.

“We have had a really good senior environment with our coaching and manager staff of Maddy Zahra, Lauren Phelps, Andrew’s Mastoris and myself.”, Spink said, also making special mention to the football program at the club.

“In our program, whilst at times it is important to separate the two senior squads, many of the players train with first grade full time and play 23s matches”.

“Five of our Under 23’s members have made consistent first grade appearances over the last 2 years.”

The success of this age group will allow for a transitional phase of these players moving into the first grade and Spink says there is a group ready to move up now.

“We are looking to promote two to three into full time first graders next season as they continue to prove what they can do at this level.”

A football club that was only promoted to the top tier level three years ago has the intention of continuing their progress.

“Our clubs development from NPL2 in 2022 to 11th in 2023 and to then go back to back premiers highlights the senior squads rapid growth and this has set an extremely good foundation for our program in both the youth and senior space for years to come.

“We will look to continue to develop players and bring silverware to the Ravens club and community.

“We want to keep building and get better.

“Not stop and be comfortable. Everyone will be after us next season as we are proving to be an ever-growing force in the NPL.”
