Three teams are locked at the top of the competition ladder in the National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s with five matches played.

Let’s take a look at what Round Six has to offer.

NWS Spirit v Bulls FC Academy @Christie Park, Saturday 3pm

The action kicks off on Saturday afternoon at Christie Park as the NWS Spirit take on Bulls FC Academy.

Tony Candy’s team performed below expectations last weekend as they went down to the Gladesville Ravens.

The young side will have patches of inconsistency but definitely possess quality, Erin Pridmore’s return isn’t too far away and her experience will help this team greatly.

It was welcome relief for the Bulls on Sunday when they walked away from their clash against Sydney University with all three points to record their first win of the season.

Isabella Coco Di Sipio scored the winner and her second of the season and is turning into a leader of this Bulls team.

Northern Tigers v Macarthur Rams @North Turramurra, Saturday 6:30pm

The second match on Saturday takes us to North Turramurra as the Northern Tigers face off against the Macarthur Rams.

It’s been a good start for Chris Wood and his team to the new season, still undefeated after five games.

They have drawn three of those five though and are slowly becoming the draw specialists of the competition.

Macarthur recorded their second win of the season in a nail-bitter against the Newcastle Jets.

New signing Sakura Nojima is finally starting to find her feet and will definitely be important for this team’s development.

Sydney University v APIA Leichhardt @Seymour Shaw, Sunday 5pm

Sydney University will take on APIA Leichhardt at the newly re-laid Seymour Shaw on Sunday night.

Uni find themselves at the bottom of the competition ladder with just one point from their first four games.

It’s a tough test against a wounded APIA Leichhardt, giving them the confidence that they could possibly upset the favourites here.

Two losses on the bounce for Brad Attard’s competition favourites has them drop out of the Top Four.

A team with immense amounts of quality has not found the back of the net in their last two outings and will need to amend that to get something from this one.

Alarm bells are no doubt ringing at Lambert Park as this was not the planned start to the season but they without a doubt have the ability to turn things around.

Newcastle Jets v Illawarra Stingrays @Lake Macquarie, Sunday 5pm

The Illawarra Stingrays make the longest trip in the competition on Sunday when they travel to take on the Newcastle Jets.

The Jets will be so disappointed that they have come home empty handed after their last two matches.

Late defeats to both the Rams and Manly would have hurt them but are no doubt the competition entertainers with goals galore at their games.

The Stingrays are one of three teams locked on 11 points at the top of the competition ladder.

They will need to secure three points on this tough away trip to continue their pursuit of the Premiership.

Sydney Olympic v Manly United @Peter Moore Field, Sunday 5pm

It’s second bottom against first placed at Peter Moore on Sunday as Sydny Olympic host Manly United.

Olympic will need to make Peter Moore a fortress this season and a difficult place to come to to help them progress up the ladder.

They are a better team than the table shows and will need to start securing points on the board to start their rise up the ladder.

Manly continued their unbeaten start to the season as Tom Hopley’s team found a late equaliser through Phoebe Gilbane on Sunday to keep the streak going.

Daisy Arrowsmith also found the back of the net there which will be welcome news, if they can continue this form, they will definitely find themselves in a finals position.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers v Gladesville Ravens @Popondetta Park, Sunday 5pm

At Popondetta Park on Sunday, the Gladesville Ravens travel to face off against the Mt Druitt Town Rangers.

What a start to life in the top tier for Ben Gough’s team, knocking over competition heavyweights in consecutive weeks.

They conceded their first goal of the season, showing in fact that their defence can be penetrated, albeit via a set piece.

The Ravens recorded their first win of the campaign in a tough match against local rival NWS Spirit.

It was welcoming and encouraging to see Lexie Moreno back in the starting line up and she is key to the Ravens success.

Western Sydney Wanderers v UNSW @Wanderers Football Park, Sunday 5pm – MOTR

The match of the round takes us to Wanderers Football Park as the Western Sydney Wanderers host UNSW.

Two wins on the bounce for the Western Sydney Wanderers and they have propelled themselves into sixth place on the ladder.

To come away from Lambert Park with any points is difficult but to do it the way the WSW did and take all three is impressive.

If they can back that up with a win against a tough opponent on Sunday, they’ll fancy their chances of finals football.

UNSW inconsistent start to 2025 continued, this time with defeat against Mt Druitt at the Village Green.

Expectations were high for UNSW in pre season, many expecting them to be challenging for more than just finals football.

A win for UNSW could potentially push them into the top four, whereas a loss could see them drift further away.
