Sunaga claims Player of the Year Award
Macarthur Rams’ Japanese star midfielder Miku Sunaga was crowned the 2024 ‘Player of the Year’ following a fantastic season as she was honoured at the 2024 Annual Gala Dinner held last Thursday at the Star Event Centre.
The classy midfielder proved to be the Rams’ pivotal playmaker following on from a successful 2024 season which saw Macarthur crowned Premiers and Champions.
In other award categories Manly United claimed the Fair Play while APIA Leichhardt FC took out the Club Championship.
In the Reserve Grade category Emerging Jets’ Ruby Jones picked up the ‘Golden Boot’ award and ‘Player of the Year’ following a huge year for the young star. Her performances wowed many onlookers as well as overseas clubs which was why Jones was unable to pick up her accolades following her move to Spanish side CE Europa.
Sydney FC bound Amber Luchtmeijer took out the senior Golden Boot scoring 23 goals for the year while Macarthur Rams’ Teresa Morrisey was rewarded for her performances underneath the goalposts taking out the ‘Goalkeeper of the Year’.
It was a night to remember for the Rams club as Stephen Peters took out the ‘Coach of the Year’ ending his journey with the club on a high following his move as head coach of Perth Glory in the Ninja A-League.
