After a frenetic 120 minutes of action it was Macarthur Rams who emerged victorious the NPL Women’s NSW Grand Final, holding their nerve to defeat APIA Leichhardt 4-2 on penalties.

Macarthur Rams FC

  1. Teresa Morrissey – 8

Read the game well, looked calm and composed and made two crucial penalty stops to earn her side the Championship.

  1. Madison Mccomasky – 8

A true captain’s performance; scored a crucial goal, looked composed on and off the ball in defence and scored a calm penalty in the shootout.

  1. Melissa Caceres – 7

Showed quality every time she got the ball but struggled to truly affect the game, before converting a strong penalty to set the tone for the shootout.

  1. Bronte Trew – 9

A consistent outlet and chance creator down Macarthur’s right-flank, luring a late red card out of APIA. A player of the match performance in the Grand Final.

  1. Miku Sunaga – 6

Looked strong in a deeper midfield role before struggling to affect the game higher up on the field. Sunaga impressed with her sharp passing, before being subbed in the 90th minute.

  1. Maya Lobo – 7

A strong performance from the centre-back, remaining composed alongside McComasky with and without the ball.

  1. India Breier – 6

Looked a threat whenever she was on the ball, but struggled to influence the game, before being substituted off in the 55th minute.

  1. Olivia Sloan – 6

A solid performance without providing any decisive moments, and was subbed in the 55th minute.

  1. Darcey Malone – 7

Malone showed her quality on the ball throughout the match, with her ability to keep possession under pressure crucial to Macarthur.

  1. Tenealle Hay – 6

Put in a strong shift from right-back, controlling her side of the field in defence for a good part of the game.

  1. Kelli Brown – 8

Opened the scoring early with a clinical finish before threatening throughout the match with her passing, dribbling, hold-up play and vision. Netted her penalty to secure a strong performance up front.

Came on in the 55th minute and put in a solid shift at the base of midfield for her side.

  1. Lola Sossai – 6

Another solid performance for Macarthur off the bench.

Couldn’t convert her penalty in the shootout, but played well after coming on for extra time.

Did her job in coming on with two minutes to go to net the winning spotkick for Macarthur.

She wasn’t given too much to go throughout the match, but was strong when called upon.

  1. Tanya Borazio – 7

Made some dangerous forays forward and helped to prevent chance creation down her flank for a good part of the match.

  1. Natasha Prior – 7

A strong performance from centre-back, remaining composed and dominant, as well as making some threatening dribbles forwards.

  1. Te Reremoana Walker – 6

Had a quiet game playing as an attacking midfielder, but worked hard before being substituted for injury in the 75th minute.

  1. Charlotte Lancaster – 8

The set piece master; netting a goal and assist from dead ball situations with superb delivery, before scoring her penalty in the shootout.

  1. Ashlie Crofts – 6

Made some dangerous runs in behind and some menacing dribbles forwards, but just couldn’t find her goal.

  1. Estelle Fragale – 8

A superb performance in midfield, combining energy with quality on and off the ball. She kept and progressed the ball brilliantly, and was just missing a converted penalty in the shootout to complete a strong match.

  1. Angelique Hristodoulou – 6

Brought good energy to the midfield and kept things simple.

  1. Sophie Hoban – 8

Grew well into the game with her incisiveness from the right, and really showed her quality in the second half with some great dribbles and passes forwards.

  1. Charlotte Young – 7

A strong leader at the back for APIA, making some important last-ditch blocks and tackles, and converted a great penalty.

  1. Paige Hayward – 6

Strong for large parts of the game but negatively affected her side when being sent off in the first half of extra time.
