Our Game armbands to be distributed in this weekend’s Women’s openers  

Football NSW’s Legacy Team have distributed captain’s armbands to all National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW First Grade and Reserve Grade teams as well as League One Women’s First Grade and Under 20s teams for their opening rounds this weekend.

The Our Game armbands are a part of the Legacy Program post-FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 that saw female football flourish in Australia.

The mission of ‘Our Game’ is to elevate, inform, and unleash a community of energised believers to own and drive the future of women’s football. Our Game is of the community, by the community, and for the community.

“These are steps we, as Football NSW, are taking to promote the state’s top tiers of women’s football and keep raising the level year on year,” said Legacy Plan Development Officers, Trudy Simmons and Pete Nowakowski.

“In a post-FIFA Women’s World Cup environment, we’re seeing a huge push in the women’s game in all aspects, and this means the world to us on and off the pitch.

“By sending out these captain’s armbands across the women’s game, it’s a reminder that this is Our Game, Our Community, and Our Opportunity to achieve success.”

“Our Legacy officers had a special message for those watching the women’s game in NSW starting this weekend.

“Keep an eye out for the vibrant yellow and blue captain’s armbands across the competitions this season.”
