APIA machine not slowing down as club targets more silverware in 2024

The sky’s the limit as APIA Leichhardt FC prepare for a massive 2024 National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW season.

After clinching the Premiership in 2023 as well as the inaugural Sapphire Cup, APIA are on the hunt for more glory as they prepare for any even bigger season.

The Inner West based side also saw the entire club clinch the Club Championship such was the success seen by the APIA Leichhardt Women’s program.

After a successful period under the watchful eye of Spencer Prior, it will be up to Brad Attard to steer the ship and build on the foundations left by the experienced Prior.

They’ve also been busy in Sydney’s Inner-West, making a number of key signings to help improve their squad.

In the front third arrives the lethal Brinley Gentle, formerly of the Emerging Jets, as well as Bulls Academy’s star winger Charlotte Lancaster have joined the Lambert Park based club.

APIA also managed to strengthen their side by weakening key rivals Northern Tigers, signing Teal Kilbride and Mona Walker who will offer stability and strength through the spine of the side.

The Tigers weren’t the only team to feel a hit from their rivals, Sydney Olympic lost their super star in Angelique Hristodoulou who swapped Belmore for Leichhardt.

Young guns Annabelle Ghabach and Mia Golding both arrive from the Football NSW Institute, while Alice Bowles comes to Lambert Park from the United Kingdom.

APIA managed to retain some key players from last year’s squad with 2023 NPL Women’s NSW Golden Boot and Player of the Year winner Ash Crofts putting pen to paper as well as Sophie Magus, Tanya Borazio, Jordan Jasnos, Gisella Pipino, Estelle Fragale and Charlotte Young all following suit.

In addition to the mentioned players, APIA is expected to sign up to three Liberty A-League players to add further class to the squad.

APIA opens up their campaign on Sunday 3rd March with a home game at Leichhardt Oval against Manly United.
