Guillermo Rubio appointed Gladesville Ravens Head Coach

Ambitious National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW club Gladesville Ravens have appointed Guillermo Rubio as the new Head Coach for the 2024 season.
Rubio replaces outgoing coach Andrew Galbraith who has departed the club by mutual consent after securing a full-time job as a senior executive in the banking sector. Galbraith was a key part of the promotion campaign in 2022, and then in Ravens’ inaugural year in the NPL, managed to secure a ninth placed league finish as well as guiding the club to the semi-finals of the inaugural Football NSW Sapphire Cup.
Rubio brings to the table a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, having won the Football NSW League One Womens title with UNSW in 2023.
Guillermo was a standout in the selection process and the Ravens board moved quickly to secure his services.
“Firstly, the Gladesville Ravens would like to thank Andrew for the amazing job he’s done, and he’ll forever be written into the history books of this club,” said the club’s Technical and Operations Director Stephen Bott.
“The search for his successor wasn’t easy. There were lots of great coaches out there, but finding the right fit was a real challenge.
“However, after hearing that Guillermo was a free agent, we moved quickly, and the rest is history.
“Guillermo was a coach that we generally struggled against, so we’re super happy to have him in our dug out this season and we can’t wait to see his team playing an exciting brand of football.”
Rubio’s teams are known for their attacking intent and defensive organsiation. He brings with him the enthusiasm and commitment to excellence that is required to succeed in the strongest NPL across the nation.
Rubio’s backroom staff will announced in due course.
