The run continues for the Macarthur Rams after another dominant display on Sunday afternoon at Christie Park, this time the Gladesville Ravens the victim with a 3-0 victory.
Stephen Peters’ team opened the scoring early on through Kelli Brown, while Miku Sunaga and substitute Lara Dipple added goals in the second half.
The Rams came out of the sheds on fire, immediately putting the home side on the back foot.
A back heel by Miku Sunaga had Leena Khamis in, only for Romina Parraguirre to come quickly off her line to deny the Rams.
It didn’t take the visitors long to strike, 11 minutes to be precise.
Brown received the ball just outside the area, turning creating some space for herself before shooting low into the corner early, Parraguirre only able to help the powerful strike over the line.
It was Brown’s 14th goal of the season, struck with some venom.
The Rams continued to dominate the game from there with efforts from Brown and Leena Khamis not causing Parraguirre any trouble.
As the half ticked toward the break, the home side had a couple chances of their own.
First, a free kick just outside the area was struck by Jess Wootton, her effort going just over the bar.
Shortly after that, a corner found the head of Lexie Moreno, only for her effort to go straight into the arms of Sham Khamis.
Unlike the previous week, the Rams came out strong this time, continuing where they left off in the first period.
Marauding runs by both Tegan Bertolissio and Amalia Plummer from left and right back were creating the Ravens grave problems.
The pressure was consistent, the high press was electric and the Ravens struggled to get out of their own half.
A fine combination where the whole midfield and attack got involved with some one touch football would have been a contender for goal of the season, only for the Ravens defence to react well.
Shortly after, Mel Caceres slipped in Mike Sunaga who took a little too long to shoot before being closed down from a good position.
They were finally rewarded for their pressure on 68 minutes.
Plummer went on one of those fine runs down the line, getting to the by-line before crossing for Sunaga who headed home well to double the Rams advantage.
As the game moved toward the 90, the Rams added a third.
Substitute Indi Breier did well down the left, crossing to the back post where Lara Dipple with her first touch buried the ball into the back of the net.
Dipple had come on only moments before but made her chance count.
