Stingrays pushing for finals football in 2023

It’s been a long time between drinks for the Illawarra Stingrays and Finals football as they work hard to right the wrong.

They have had a coaching change with Steve Gordon taking the helm at the South Coast side for the 2023 campaign.

The ever-present Michelle Carney will go again in her beloved pink colours, defying the numbers despite turning 41 late last year. Her experience, leadership and ability never come into question and will once more be an important part of what the Stingrays do.

Caitlin Cooper will also line up alongside her captain and these two stalwarts will be the pillars that help hold together the Stingrays.

They have managed to sign Aimee Hall in goals from the FNSW Institute, Tara Cannon and Daisy Canavan both arrive from Canberra, Mia McGovern comes over from the NWS Spirit FC while Sam Payne, Bella Voisey-Youlden and Piper Lockley have also been snapped up by the South Coast side.

Gordon will be eager to get his A-League girls into the squad once they return with Sheridan Gallagher, Danika Matos and Chloe Middleton all ready to pull on the pink jersey.
