APIA Leichhardt will be expecting to go a step further in 2023 after falling just short of a place in last season’s 2022 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s Grand Final.
APIA coach Spencer Prior leads the team from the famous Lambert Park once more and silverware is definitely on the menu for the new season.
The club have recruited well this season, with an eye on the future bringing in players who are on the cusp of playing A-League Women’s or have recently being involved with the likes of Natasha Prior (Sydney FC), Jordan Jasnos, Tanya Borazio and Ash Crofts (Canberra) from the Blacktown Spartans, Gisella Pipino from Sydney Olympic and Siahn Bozanic from the Bulls Academy.
They have added Canadian born Bella Habuda who scored for fun in the Queensland NPL and was formerly with the WSW. Tough central defender Charlotte Young who played for Brighton and Hove Albion has also been snapped up.
With Sophie Hoban expected to flourish this campaign and Estelle Fragale holding her own in midfield, APIA look like the team to beat.
They’ll have a target on their backs but they won’t mind and it’s something they revel at Lambert Park.
