The Price is right for Olivia at Bankstown City
One of the first names on coach Matthew Costantini’s team sheet every week for the last two years at Bankstown City has been Olivia Price.
A tenacious midfielder with flare, Price is currently enjoying life at Bankstown City.
Moving into her second season at Jensen Park, Price feels right at home.
“As soon as I arrived last year with Bankstown, they were very welcoming and had a lovely culture, I love the environment the club brings,” Price said.
After a few difficult seasons and not being in the mix for finals football, the classy midfielder and her team expect more from 2022.
The season didn’t get off to the best start on Sunday, with the Bankstown girls going down 3-1, despite putting in a solid effort.
“Always our main team goal is to win the league. We work hard and focus our energy on each week and we need to take it at a game at a time to do so,” she said.
A major issue for Bankstown last year and over the past few seasons was their efficiency in front of goal, something that Price would love to improve on.
“Some personal objectives for myself would be improving on my shooting to be scoring goals and working on my leadership as a role model,” Price said.
Price hasn’t just been lighting up fields in the state’s top tier but also on the national stage and even previously as a Young Matilda.
Having the opportunity to represent her nation is one of Price’s most cherished football moments and still has dreams of earning her first full cap as a Matilda.
“Being able to represent my country as a Young Matilda was a great achievement, my goal has always and still is to become a Matilda,” Price said.
Over her years in the NPL NSW Women’s competition, Price says that the league has continued to improve, giving players like Price the opportunity to improve and reach their full potential.
“The NPL NSW Women’s every year keeps getting better and more competitive,” said Price.
“Women’s football in NSW and Australia has developed so much since I first started playing the world game and it’s awesome to see the game continuing to grow every year and its exciting to be a part of that.”
