Sydney University want more glory in 2020

Alex Epakis’ Sydney University team will come into this campaign as favourites once more after completing the double in 2019.
The Champions are the only club to have done it in the last seven years, securing the double for the first time in 2016.
They’ve become a dominant force in women’s football in NSW and Epakis will be keen to keep them at the top of the game in the state.
“We’re excited for the 2020 season. We’ve done a lot in the past two seasons and that’s because we’ve all worked hard in preparing us to be the best possible.
The ‘Students’ do things the ‘Sydney Uni way’ and Epakis puts this down to the club continuously improving on and off the park.
“We take pride in playing a certain way, doing things a differently as a club and looking to be the best versions of ourselves on the field. This season is no different.”
Uni have been pushing young stars through their system for quite some time now and we can expect more of the same in 2020 with the trend set to continue.
“We have a very young group of committed individuals who want to be part of an environment which is successful and valued.
“Every player in the entire squad brings a certain strength to the table, and they all add up to give us a really strong foundation to attempt to be as successful as possible. The strength is in the desire of each one of these players to be better and committed.”
One of Uni’s strengths in 2020 will definitely lie in that that Epakis was able to keep most of his young and highly sought after talented players in the yellow and blue.
“We are excited that we where able to keep hold of young prospects and are looking for them to really take a step up this season.
“We have some players that have great X-Factor coming through the Reserve grade squad and even younger teams.”
Uni will no doubt be challenging for top honours once more in 2020 and open their season at home against the North West Sydney Koalas.
