In one of the biggest moves in the National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s the off-season, Tanya Borazio has swapped Orange for Maroon and the West for the Inner West, putting pen to paper with APIA Leichhardt.
After seven years with the Blacktown Spartans, the time finally came for the defender to test herself at another club.
“I played at Blacktown Spartans for 7 years. I’m grateful for the coaching, experiences and friends made during my time there,” Borazio said.
“I was really excited for a change of environment, new routines and a fresh start in my footballing career.”
It hasn’t taken her long to settle in at Lambert Park with head coach Spencer Prior and the club making the move much easier.
“I already feel at home at the club, I’m loving the coaching, the team, the professional environment, and the club morale. Changing clubs is always a daunting experience, but from the first training session everything has run really smoothly, and I’ve learnt a lot while being here,” said Borazio.
“The team has been working hard and are well into pre-season, looking very dangerous in the friendly games they have played so far.
“The team is looking sharp; we have a lot of depth and some very talented girls which I’m really excited to work with on the field. We all push each other to be the best that we can be, and the environment is positive and encouraging.”
APIA stopped just short of a Grand Final place in 2022 with a solid showing in the league.
Borazio says the team just wants to be the best they can be every week and the results will take care of themselves.
“As a club we want to be consistent and produce the results each week which we will work hard towards. We want to be the best that we can be once we step onto the pitch on game day, and we are working hard towards being a position to win the club championship.”
